OBITUARY. (Special to the Times.) The death took place at Whakataue on Wednesday night, after several weeks’ illness, oi a- well-known Opotiki resident, Thomas Henry Parkinson. Deceased was born in Victoria 62 years,ago and came to New Zealand with his parents when a child. Later, he took up with training horses and, for'a number of years, was trainer for Mr It. Porter with whom he had some good success, winning the Railway Handicap at Ellerslie with Nancy Lee, other horses which won considerable stake money for the same owner being and Mosque, two or three Opnjlki Clips being included in their total. Deceased, who wa,s pre-deceased $-y his wife, leaves four sons and two daughters. The funeral will lie held at Opotiki on Friday. GOLF.
