Following Saturday’s game for the Prince'of ’Wales Oup, the selectors of the New Zealand Maori team, Messrs. . VyV:T. Parata (iiyaipoiuiamu), A. Takarangi ,(£ai Ifciuapyu), 'T. French (Tairawliiti) arid Harding Leaf (Tolcerau), with the assistance of Mr. E. McKenzie, chariman of the N.Z.R.U. selection committee, in an advisory capacity, met and chose the Maori sido which is to tour Australia, next month. p. Of the 25 players selected, 15 took part in Saturday’s match and rather curiously, two of those who camo on as reserves were picked for the touring side. Poverty Bay’s sole representative is B. Rogers, hut there.are five from the Coast, G. Nepia, J. C. Reedy, 11. Harrison, Iv. B. Reedy and J. Kershaw. In all 12 Tairawhiti players are included in (he final selection.
G. Nepia lias been appointed captain and, according to a Press Association message from Wellington last evening, Mr. King! .Tahiwi' will he manager and Mr W. J. Wallace coach.
