EIGHT CUT IN HALF. BOWELS ESCAPE INJURY. (U.R.A. by Elec. Tel. Copyright.) MELBOURNE, April 24. In similar circumstances as in the case of the Scots College boat in Sydney on April 5, a university racing eight was cut in halves by a ferry steamer during a practice run. The racing shell was carried into the path of the ferry by the flood waters of the Maribyi'nong River. The rowers, who were rescued by the crew of the ferry, were not, injured apart, from the shock of immersion.
