Although considerable success has attended the anti-Communist drive in the province of Kweichow, directed by Marshal Chiang Kai-Shek resulted : n the smashing of the grip of the “Reds” and scattering them towards Szechwan, much anxiety is felt as to whether the defeated hordes ere fleeing for the purpose of joining the large Communist army operating in the vicinity of C-liengtu, where three special nerepjanes have li?en evacuating foreigners, especially missionaries. Bandit:- are swarming everywhere quitting Chengiu hurriedly by available steamer and river craft. It is expected that Mashal .Chiang Kai-Shek will next personally direct an anti-“R?d” campaign in Szechwan, again relying on aerial attacks.
