SUMMARY AND FORECAST (Press Association*. WELLINGTON. A j.ril 23 An intense anti-cyclone is centred east of Chatham Island while a complex depression extends across the Tasman Sea onto' New Zealand. Winds: Moderate to strong northeasterly. reaching gale force in ’places. Seas: (N.Z Wateis): High north of East Capo and rough, generally, north of Westport and IGiikoura ; elsewhere moderate, but rising. Tasman Sea: Strong northerly winds, backing to westerly, in the northern portion; seas rough. Weather: Cloudy to overcast with much mist or fog and general rain probable with many heavy falls and come flooding, especially from the Cook Strait area southwards. Mild temperatures.
