; A CHRISTENING PARTY. On Easter Sunday afternoon the infant son of Mr and Mrs Basil Adair \yas baptised at - Holy Trinity Church. Tiio ceremony was performed by Canon A. E. Hall, and the child was given the names of lan Robin, the duties of god parents being undertaken by Miss Audrey Adair, aunt of the infant, and Mr lan Matheson, of Wellington. A number of relatives and friends were afterwards entertained by Mr and Mrs Adair at their home in Clifford street. Afternoon tea was served in -the drawingroom, which was most artistically decorated with pastel-hued roses and dahlias intermingled with delicate fronds of maidenhair fern. The handsome christening cake, advantageously placed on a small table, was surrounded with slender vases of white roses arranged with artistic effect. The hostess was wearing a smart tunic frock of Marina blue marocain and a small white straw hat. Among the guests were: Mesdames. W. Quinn (Sydney), C. Adair; Mr and Mrs J. S. Allan, Mr and Mrs W. Kohn, Mr and Mrs R. .Houlahan; Mrs G. "Witters; Misses A. and JAdair and M. and R. Witters. POVERTY BAY RTJNT CLUB The weekly most of the Poverty Bay hounds was held at Manutuke on Saturday when excellent sport was provided for a big field and a large number of interested spectators. Greatly appreciated refreshments were served by tho lady raem-' bors at the home of Mr and Mrs J. E. Daulton during a pleasant interlude. Among those in the saddle wore: The Master, Mr 11. H.
