COOK HOSPITAL PATIENTS INCREASE ON LAST YEAR In the course of his annual nvR-w at the Cook Hospital Board meeting en Thursday, tiie chairman (Mr MT. Trafford) quoted' interesting : tat* istics regarding the Cook Hospital, Memorial Heme, Maternity Home, and' Tolaga’ Bay Hospital- All figures •given'below relate to the financial year ending -on March 31 of the year given. Dealing with Cook Hospital, Mr Trafford. intimated that the number of patients under treatment and the average number of occup-.ed beds, for the past ten years, were as follows :

The average of day a stayed was as follow*: *l'2G, 23.0; 1927, 22-1; 1928 25.5; 1929' 2(3.28; 1930, 26.6; 1931, 25.4; 1932; 22.8; 1933, 22.46; 1934, 21.9; 1935, 23.87. / / Out-patients for the period from 192(1-29 inclusive were not available, but since then the numbers have been as (follows: 1930, 443; 1931, 598; 1932, 520;' 1933; 411; 1934, 426; 1935, 433. ■ ■ ' 4 OTHER INSTITUTIONS The average number of inmates of the Memorial Home has been as follows-: 1931, 62.7; 1932, 57.2; 1933 66; 1934, 54.1; 1935;-53.6 - ; Regarding the Cook- ■ Maternity Home, Mr TraflorJ stated that during the nine months ended March 31 1934, 108 patients wore admitted, staying for 1243 days in all, with a 3.4 average of occupied beds, and 110 babies were born.
