He should know: For 24 years lie lias been a motion picture actor and director. Ninety per cent- of bis time lias been spent in handling feminine stars—Gai'ba, Joan Crawford Norma Shearer, Mae Murray, and others. Leonard is .lainous for his ability to get tlie last atom of artistry from a. woman. What are Ids secrets which might be uned in ev-ery-day life? He states five rules: — “Don't yell at a woman. There is something in her make-up that blows a fuse under the impulse of a luirsli voice. She can't help it. It is an instinctive resentment. Keep your voice at a low pitch, no matter how angry you may be. “Don’t be impatient. Never- glance at your watch when she comes out of her boudoir 16 minutes late. A woman thinks and acts quicker than a man. This, added speed makes up for most delays, and a woman always resents working by the clock. “Don’t flusfer a woman. Woman, unlike a man, is not a g r egarious animal. a quick mixer. Give her plenty of time to get used to you. There can be none of this ‘Harry, old boy’ in ten minutes with any woman. “Don't make fidgety motions. A woman can’t stand it. in a man. “Don't forget your table manners. Yon may like to be known as rough and ready, but thousands of women become really angry because of the •way a man ate his soup.”
