White House has announced that President' Roosevelt personally will greet Admiral Byrd on bis arrival at Washington at 10.5 aboard the Bear of Oakland 1 . Th c previous expedition returned directly to New York. Today's announcement is the first intimation of a. special welcome programme being arranged. On th<> evening of their arrival Admiral B.vi’d and the members of the expedition will be entertained at a reception of tlie National Geographic Society.
