Barry at the- beginning,of the, season for the 'competitor gaining most points at carnivals -held at iTe Tufa, during the year appears in.doubt until, tho conclusion of Saturday’s carnival. With Gisborne and Const swirmner s added, quite a, large number of clubs will be represented. The latest advice from Rotorua states the Maori hoys are all looking forward to tlie trip and will be hi tip top form. It. is understood that Mr { >J Perrin, the well known Rotorua coach, will be' present in charge of the Rotorua team. The position of the Te P.ui a. baths lends itself for the purpose of holding! carnivals being provided with a. fine natural grandstand which will ne commodate an unlimited number of people. ; Since the last carnival was held there considerable improvements have taken place which will tend to inerea.sq the present popularity of the place. At it is now hut- a two hour run from .town a large number of Gisborne people will he present both for the carnival and to spend their Avhole East-or vacation there. Although He baths are perhaps the main attraction a splendid tennis court is also a big asset. For those who will he staying over the holidays many delightful short motor runs cari be made, if. being only four miles from Waipii'o Bay. which is recognised as one of the pret tiest spots °n the .Coast.
