Airs Morten llolfe and her daughter had a violent encounter with a burglar at their home in Orrong road, Elsternwick. The thief attempted to steal three diamond rings from Mrs Rolfe’s finger while she was in bed. He dealt a succession of blows on her head with a kunckle-duster. Her condition is critical. Fler daughter went to her assistance and was also violently assaulted. The thief escaped without taking anything.
