(Special to the Times) At- the annual meeting of the Opo- - Fire Board. Dir. H. Clay W.;s (re-elected chairman lor tlie ensuing' year. Estimates were prepared amounting to £546. U was resolved to equip the i'iie Biigade with new uniforms. The chairman highly complimented the brigade on its efficiency and good conuuct.
WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
VISIT OF DODIINTOX PRESIDENT
A very successaful social afternoon was held when members oi the Opotiki. Waiotahi. Otara and Woodlands branches assembled to meet the Dominion President (Mrs Patterson), MisS| Duel'll' (predclcnifc of 'G-pMsiki branch) presided. Dlrs V. 'thy. the past president of the Bay of**P!cnty Federation and Dlrs Stewart the newly elected President, were also present. Dlrs Clark presented Dlrs Patterson Dlrs Withy and Dlrs Stewart with dainty buttonholes and Dliss Budd welcomed the visitors in a charming speech. After Mrs Patterson had spoken on Dominion Federation work Dlrs Withy thanked all present for the support given to her during her term of office as President of the Bay of Plenty Federation, She ex-preas'-ed heartfelt thanks !"■' the beautiful quilt- which had been presented to he" the various Institutes in the Pay. Dlrs Stewart asked that continued support and co-opera-t'on -should be given to her as president. Dliss B. Kelly delighted the gathering with two vocal selections, '•Home Little Maori Home” and "Two Eves of Grey.” She was accompanied by Dlrs llambly. Dlrs Kidd received much applause for her elocu tionary item "If.”
