"IMITATION OF LIFE.” LAST SCREENING TO-DAY. “Imitation of Life,” starring Claudette Colbert, ivill be shown at the King’s Theatre for the last time today and to-night. DOUBLE BILL TO-MORROW. To-morrow another double bill will be presented. Jesse L. Lasky, pioneer producer and Janies Craze, veteran director, have once again joined forces for the making of a spectacular movie. In their first joint production since sound arrived on the screen, Lasky and Bruze were reunited for the-making of "Helldorado.” In this play, a story of terrific sweep and scope, laid outdoors and in a Western setting, he felt he had a. "natural” for Craze to direct. For the starring role Lasky and Craze chose Richard Arlen, who had just concluded an eleven-year contract with one studio, and in this film plays his first role as a free lance player. Madge Evans lias the leading feminine role, opposite Arlen, and in supporting parts are Ralph Bellamy, Menrv B. Walthall. In the lusty, red-blooded romantic type of story which he adorns, Richard Dix in "West of the Pecos,” has scored another triumph. The story opens at the close of the Civil War, when Colonel Lambeth with his daugh ter Terrill begin life anew in tlic West. Their first meeting with Pecos (Dix) is at San Antonio, where with pistols drawn lie is backing out of a cantina where he has just killed a man in self-defence. Later Pecos joins the Lambeth outfit on the long, hard trek to the Pecos country and shares with them the perils of Indian attacks, the menace of white men worse than the Indians, and constant hunger and thirst, and romance follows throughout with the usual happ.' ending. "ONE NIGHT OF’ LOVE ” The world-famous musical comedy, "One Night of Love.” in which the talented Grace Moore has the leading part will be screened at the King’s on Easter Saturday. Plans !for the season are now open at the theatre and are filling rapidly, The film has a humorous {story, the cream of grand opera music, and a. highly talented caste with Tullio Carminute opposite Miss Moore, the whole being welded into a perfectlybalanced production. The Gisborne season is limited to five days and nights only, Easter Saturday and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Sessions will he given at 10.30 a.in. noon, 2 p.m., 5 p.m., and S p.m.
