alleged negligence CAR DRIVER IN COURT (Press Association). WELLINGTON, April 15. James Thomas McGinnity appeared before the magistrate to-day on «. charge of negligently driving a car on the night of February 28, thereby causing bodily injury to Harry Kitchener Oollins. The allegation was that the accused made off after the accident, which he must have known occurred and that the accident arose from the speed at which the car was going when crossing an intersection. The police, in outlining the easr?, mentioned that there were two girls in the car, and when the accident occurred splintered glass was thrown over them. Evidence to this effect was given, and that the girls suggested to McGinnity to stop. A message boy who witnessed the accident gave evidence that a,lter it took place the car skidded, slowed, and then sped away with the lights switched cut. Accused was committed for trial.
