ARGENTINE BEEF FOR BRITAIN, NO LOSS OF CONSUMPTION FEARED. (U.P.A. by Elec. Teh Copyright.) LONDON, April 14. An illustration of the Argentine viewpoint regarding the restrictions on beef imports was given by Sir Janies Child, chairman of-the Smithfield and Argentine Company, at a meeting yesterday. He expressed the opinion that a long as Argentina maintains breed cattle and chilling factories, and is* permitted to exreise her long and expensively acquired experience in producing exactly what the British public wants, there is little fear of the loss of the British consumer as a buyer of Argentine chilled lieci. Argentine beef raisers have never wavered in their determination to produce only tlie best article possible. They have achieved this by coming here for the last 40 years and purchasing a large number ol the best bulls bred by Britain at extraoidinariiy high prices, sometimes 3000gns for yearling bulls. Sir James Caird declared that the Argentine could supply an. article ol even quality over the whole 12 months of the year. CHILLED- KEEP.
