OFFICIAL OPENING TO-DAY. HON E. A. EIANSOM, TO ATTEND Despite the interruption bn the Gisbome-Napier road, tho plans lor the official opening of the East Const Air Ways service at Dartori Field today are not affected, and everything will proceed .as originally arranged. The Hon. E. A. Ransom; notingPremier, is to take the leading, part in the proceedings and He-' is to fly through, to Gisborne this morning. H e will probably retiirn to Napier in the Dragon. A number of. visiting planes are expected to he on hand 1 for today s ceremony, two from Wellington and one each from Hawke’s, Bay, Auckland and Hamilton, having already hen promised with several others as possible visitors. Tho opening ceremony which is: timed to start at 11 a.m., will b e a simple one. Wing-Commander S. Grant Dalton, chairman, of directors of the company, will extern, ?. welcome to the Minister and other visitors, fol lowing which brief addresses will be delivered by Mr D. V'. Coleman, M.P.- Mr John Jackson (Mayor ot Gisborne), and Mr C. 0. Morse (Mayor of Napier). The Minister will then speak and at' the conclusion declare the service inaugurated. Shortly afterwards the official party will depart in the Dragon for Napier where a reception ceremony on similar lines will be conducted.
