OBITUARY

MISS E M. PASLEY

Deepest regret will be occasioned by tho news of the death, in Look Hospital cn Saturday afternoon of Miss Elnm Muriel Pasley. eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs G. K. Pasley. Pasley was taken ill only on Monday last, and tli e news of her death will come as a great shock to an exceedingly wide field of friends and acquain tancqs.

Miss Pasley who was born in Gisborne, was a member of the committee of the Anglican Church at To Harapa, where she was also relieving organist. For many years she was a member of the Te Hapara Ladies’ G«ild\ and also held the position °f secretary. Miss Pasley was a popular member of the Gisborne Women's Club, and of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in b°th. of which organisations she evinced n deep and keen interest. She was for .some time in charge °f the Y.W.C.A;'Hostel. To the general public however, Mi 5s Pasley was perhaps better known through Her association With the Turanganui .Library where she was a well knortn figure for eight y« arS - f° u ; and d iihlf years aS assistant librarian arid three arid Half years ns chief librarian. She HHd lately relinquished the latter position which she had always filled with an unfailing courtesy and conspicuous ability which Had won for Her the' highest esteem among - a. yerx wide circle 6f friends. Deepest sympathy iff their sad loss will be extended to the parents arKi other members of the family.
