EASTER HOLIDAYS
TEN DAYS FOR SCHOOLS. MINISTER’S PLAN ADOPTED. Falling into line with the decisions made elsewhere, the Hawke’s Bay Education Board, at Friday’s meeting in Napier, decided to adopt the suggestion of the Minister of Education that schools be closed thrbiighout Easter week, instead of the pupils being compelled to return on the days immediately before and after Anzac Day. This means that the schools will break up on Thursday next, April 18, and re-open on Monday, April 29. Previously the board had decided not to close for the extra days, but the decision of practically all other boards ot adfrpt the suggestion led to the change by the Hawke’s Bay body. The High School Board, at last week’s meeting, also decided not to close on tho extra days, but the board has now decided to, fall into line with the primary schools and observe the same 10-day holiday.
