At Hackney, England, a few weeks ago, there was the extraordinary occurrence of a boxer’s winning a contest although he had broken an arm .The boxers engaged were Jimmy Vaughan and Frank Meaefcem. Vaughan fell to the floor midway through the fourth round, but was soon on hip feet again and boxing cleverly .Vaughan won on points. As he was suffering much pain in his right arm. he wont to a doctor cn the Following day. and learned that he had broken his forearm when lie fell to the floor of the ring. “LUCKY TO GET DECISION " Ambrose Palmer got the .shock oi his life at Leichhardt Stadium (Sydney) when Ron Richards, the Queensland born, met him in a 15 two-min-ute round contest; and when at the end Referee Jack Haines gave Palmer the benefit of the doubt there was a terrific outburt of disapproval from a large section of the crowd (says the Sydney “Referee").
