summary and forecast (IVess Association;. '•WELLINGTON, April 12. An anti-cyclone extends from tlio north Tasman Sea across New Zealand, pressure being highest oh Die Canterbury coast. A depression is located off the East Cape however, ancl one is also situated over the southwest, Tasman Sea. Winds; —Moderate northerly over the southern half of the South .[stand, elsewhere moderate to strong southerly, of gale force at places about Cook Strait, but soon moderating, becoming northerly tomorrow general.v from C'cok Stra.it southwards, and freshening again. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate southerly winds in the northern portion, with moderate seas; easterly winds veering to freshening northerlies in the southern portion with rising seas Seas :—Rough north el Farewell Spit and Kaikoura; elsewhere moderate, but later rising about Fovcaux Strait. Weather —Squally and showery in the East Coast, district, and I; vr 'southern portion, of tlio North Island, heavy showers being likely between Hawke's Ray and the Bay of J.’lent.v but improving tomorrow ; elsewhere mainly ■ lair, but later becoming unsettled in south Westland and the far south. Cold temporv tores.
