Kennedy, Bro. L. Wright, P.G.; Bro. H. O. Bignell, P.G., and Bro. Scott, P.G.; N.G. Bro. A. C. Beattie; V.G. Bro. E. Bansley; Recording Secretary, Bro. P. Hardacre P.G.; financial secretary, Bro. W. C. Brydon, P.G-..; treasurer, Bro. E. B. Hollever P.G. Addresses on Oddfellowship and lodge work in general were delivered by D.P.G.M. Bfjb. Harvey, P.G.M. Bro. Robb and P.D.Dq G.M, Bro. Kennedy. The visitors wore entertained to supper by the local brethren. WOMEN’S INSTITUTE The monthly meeting was held on Wednesday when there was A splendid attendance of members and friends. The roll call “My Most Awkward Moment” brought forth much laughter, while many chose to pay the fine. Mrs. Grant introduced Miss Whitelaw who, accompanied by Mrs Plummer, was a visitor. Miss Whitelaw gave a most interesting lecture on “Social Conditions in London” and was presented with a pretty little posy and, on the motion of Mrs P. E. Porter, was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. It was decided to hold a children’s fancy dress ball on May 24 in Te Puka Hall and a special committee was set up to arrange matters, including Mesdamos Hibbett, Boag, Hoi ah, Short, Beattie, Felton, J. Williams and Misses McKay and Con ole as well as the secretary and committee. On Friday the 12th 21 memlwrs intend visiting Gisborne to be present at the Federation meeting. A dainty afternoon tea was served. The gardening circle has arranged to hold a Flower Show on May 1. Mrs. Findlay was appointed vice-president and Mrs. Steed treasurer. The competitions for the day resulted: Bowl of autumn flowers, Mrs. Grant 1; Mrs. Riddell and Mrs. Hibbett 2. Nut loaf: Mrs. Boag 1, Ms. J. Williams 2. Best article made out of a felt hat: Miss Con ole 1, Mrs Kay 2. New use for chocolate box: Mrs. Hibbett 1, Mrs. Kay 2. Bottle of fruit: Mrs. Sparkles 1. Mrs. Riddell 2. The competitions for the next meeting will be : Plate of small cakes , melon jam ; daintiest bedroom novelty; bowl of Chrysanthemums. Mrs. Nodwell intends lecturing on “The Psychology of Dreams.’ - TENNIS NOTES. The forthcoming Easter tourney is being looked forward to by all enthusiasts along the Coast. At present the four courts are in splendid condition and playing better than over. All that is required is fine weather over the holidays and there will be a record attendance. The entries close over the week-end with the societal j, ivho is expecting to have a busy time.
