Plaintiff said" that the dpg was riatixrally savage and attacked him; without cause. FIVE-ROOMED HOUSE GUTTED. OPOTIKI, April 11. A firo which broke out at midnight gutted two rooms in a fivercomcd house in St. John Street, Op** otitki, owned and occupied by Mrs Margaret Skipper,, considerable damage also being done to the rest of the house of smoke arid water. There was no one. in the house when the lire broke oxxty Mrs Skipper being at Levin and her son away for the night, so that, the fire had !l £°°d hold when the brigade arrived soon after the siren sounded. The brigade did remarkably good work, getting the fire under almost at once.
