The American technique of the "snatch .racket” was apparently successfully applied here, when kidnappers after seizing Fal-a- Gutierrez, a fabulously wealthy scion of a prominent- sugar family from his automobile in an Havana suburb! obtained 300.003 dollars in United States currency, for bis release. Sen or Gutierrez immediately fled to the United States, and the police threw cordons of -guards round the homes of -other members of his family in order to protect them against threats of violence from tho kidnappers for having revealed the facts. The ransom money was marked and already 20 persons' have, been arrested.
