SaLi Epstein, a young Jewish painter, and Hans Zeigler, were beheaded for . complicity in the murder of the Nazi hero, Horst. Weasel, in 1930. The case is unique, inasmuch as both were sentenced to death when the Nazis revived the case’, whereas the man originally responsible was convicted in 1932 for manslaughter and sentenced to six years’ gaol, but he died i n prison soon after the Nazi revolution.
