TRAFFIC CONTROL
DISTRICT MAIN HIGHWAYS. DAZZLING LIGHTS DANGER Reporting to this week's meeting o'f tha Cook County Council, the joint counties*traffic inspector,, Mr W. H. Scott, stated — ‘No. 1 section—T have made four trips over this district to watch heavy traffic carting. A close watch has been kept for ouside unlicensed motor lorries carting passengers to a Mormon mission gathering at Nuhalca. I was successful in detecting six, who will appear before tho Magistrate’s Court. ‘No. 2 section—One • trip was made to Whatatntu and one additional trip as far as To Karaite. . ‘Wharekopao and Tab ora, section— I have made one trip over this district. This highway is carrying little traffic at present. ‘No. 3 section —I visited this district between Gisborne and' Hick’s Bay. One' motor lorry proprietor ut Hick’s Bay has been 'giving a considerable amount of trouble. ‘Dazzling headlights—Some considerable time ago there was a general inspection of all cars in this district for dazzling headlights. I would! now appeal to the motoring public to take full advantage of A.A. assistance at tests to he carried out on the evenings of April 16, 17 and 18- at the wharf shed No. 5, in order that they may have their lights correctly adjusted, before the winter. Licence issued —Heavy traffic, 25; drivers’ license's, 7 new applications,' and 2 issued on behalf of the WaiItehu County. The‘ total number of drivers’ licenses issued to date is 1704
