An application for a Dominion award by the N.Z Federated Biscuit and Gonfetionery Industrial Association of AVorkers, was’ heard by' the Conciliation Council.
Objection was i aisej to the proceedings- on the 'grounds' that the Wellington and Nelson districts had ho di-gahisatibns competent to act fOf the workers.
The main questions- in dispute were youths'and female' workers arid 'wages. The employers had increa'sed their last offer of T3s 6d to lon for youths during' the first- six months'; and of Us 3d to 12s 6d for- females 'during the first six months’ 'employment.; '•
