COMMEMORATION IN GISBORNE. BEAUTIFYING ASSOCIATION'S : SCHEME TREES FOR. UPPER GLADSTONE ROAD. Waiting on the Borough Council meeting on Tuesday evening a deputation of the Gisborne District- Beautifying Association urged that, as part of the King’s Jubilee celebrations residents of the town should [io invited to pant trees in Gladstone road between Roebuck and Lytton roads. Such trees would bo planted,, it was suggested, in sur-h a. position as to avoid any obstruction of power u>r telegraph lines. The members of the deputation were Dr IT. Gon!ding Rice and Mr -f. Blair. Though there were onir 70 houses in the section mentioned, the deputation stated, the petition in support of the proposal had been signed' by 79 ratepayers. Cr. H. H.
