GRACIE FIELDS MORE POPULAR THAN EVER
Saturday’s packed houses at tho Majestic are ample evidence of the ever-increasing popularity of Grade Fields. “In Sing as We Go’’ she is seen at her best. Tlie plot ie a. hap-py-go-lucky affair that suits Grade’s style of comedy. She is out of work and willing to try anything. The first job -she does manage to. get is that of a fortune teller’s assistant. This is a. success until her prophecies become too startling. Then she attempts to qualify as a. magician. Her chief appoints her the Vanishing Lady, bu.t : she mistakes her exit and entrances anj after vanishing emerges into a cowboy act when they are all shooting off revolvers. These are only a. few of the embarrassing situations into which the author, J. B. Priestly, manages to get the poor unfortunate Grade, but every oire of them leads to the amusement of the public. The cast of this comedy includes. Jolm Loder and Dorothy Hyson. On tlie same programme are a colored cartoon :.nd the “Pirate Treasure” serial.
