Archbishop Redwood is seriously ill in Lewisham hospital, where, this morning, it was necessary to perform a major operation. His right leg was amputated above the knee, following indications of gangrene, which had troubled him for some weeks. It was only as a. last hope that his medical advisers recommended amputation. .Tt was reported this evening that His Grace was as well ns could be expected in the circumstances.
