BUTTER WANTED
SHORTAGE IN SOUTH AFRICA. IMPORTATION OF 6000 CASES. (U.P.A. by Elcc. Tel. Copyright) CAPETOWN, Oct. 18. In consequence of a shortage of butter, the Government agreed to the Control Board importing 6000 eases, one week’s normal requirements. It is estimated that stocks will bo reduced by the end of October to 400,0001b5, but the position will be reviewed weekly. The imported butter will be sold at the port of landing at Is Od a lb, and will be retailed at 2s 3d. The drought has broken in the cattle districts, hut. the shortage of butter will continue for some time.
