RELIGIOUS FREEDOM
CORUI/U DELATIONS BETWEEN CREEDS. PAPAL DELEGATE’S EULOGY OF AUSTRALIA. (U.P.A. by Elec. TeL Copyright) (Received Oct. 17, 8.40 p.m.) FREMANTLE, Oct. 17. Among the passengers by the Orontes, which arrived at Fremantle yesterday, was the Papal delegate, Archbishop Bernadine, who brought a special message of greeting from the Pope to the Catholics of Australia. A large gathering of school children, carrying appropriate banners, gathered at the ship’s side to welcome him. Archbishop Bernadine, in the course of an interview, said he was very happy to be in Australia where there was full religious freedom, which seemed to be the privilege of the ordinances of the British Empire, and where the relations between the various creeds were more cordial than elsewhere.
