GERMAN ELECTIONS. NO VOTING FOR OPPOSITION. (U.P.A. by Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Rec. Oct. 17, 11 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 17. The Times Berlin correspondent reports that no Opposition candidates will be tolerated at the elections by the Government and explains that voting papers must mention only the Nazi Party with a circle printed alongside wherein voters must make a cross, otherwise the papers will tfe invalid. It will thus- be impossible to vote against the Nazis, and will only he possible to abstain from voting or spoil the paper.

(U.P.A. by Elec. Teh Copyright) (Rec. Oct. 17, 5 p.m.) BERLIN, Oct. 17The German public is at last being informed that the Nazi 'Brownsliirts were being punished for assaulting foreigners. An official announcement reads: — “Four Brown Shirts who took part in excesses against the Swiss subjects Ruegg and the Englishman Hardy, who. was a member of the British Embassy in Berlin have been sent to a concentration camp. ' Those guilty of maltreatment of the American Boelg at Dusseldorf have been arrested and, will be tried at Berlin.” '
