AUCKLAND, Oct. 15 Struck by a discharge from ,a shotgun as he was walking from the Pas.sage into the kitchen of his home shortly after initio ay yesterday Air. George Little, 41, foreman at Pokeno, for the Public Works Department, received severe lacerations t 0 the right hand. Mr. and jVDs. Little have no childlen, but at the l time of the incident, Mrs. Little’s nephew, aged 12 years, was in the kitchen laving the table for lunch. Mrs. Little had gene into the front bedroom, and after entering the house, her husband also passed through the kitchen to the Don't of the house. About half a minute later Mr s . Little returned to the kitchen. A fe w seconds ’later on Mr. Little was just mailing through the passage door in- \ the kitchen, the report of a shot rang out. He received the full charge in his hand. Mr. Little ran out of the house to the nearest neighbours, who obtained medical aid. . The police later visited the house, and tile door was opened by Mrs. Little. After being questioned, Mrs. Little. who is 49, was arrested, and hi ought to Auckland. She will he charged in the Police Court tomort-o'". Mr. and Mrs. Little arc both wellknown in the district.
