Yi r H lan Simson, a well-known resident of Hawke’s Bay for many years announces' his candidature for the Buffer scat at the forthcoming by-election as a Liberal-Labor, candidate basing his platform on the policy of Ballance and Seddon. Mr Simson has had considerable experience on various local bodies in the province, and formerly was Mayor of Hastings and chairman of the Hawke’s Bay Rivers Board. WESTPORT, Oct. 15 A meeting of the combined Buffer Labor Representative Committee* yas held in Westport today to consider a successor to Mr. H. E. Holland as M.P. for Buffer. In an interview, the Hon. Mark pagan, who represented the National Executive, saiff that ceitain decisionwere reached, and would be conveyed to the executive at Wellington. Nothiiicr would be made public meantime.
