Kate Smith, America’s pi polar radio islar, playing - uuaer her own name, makes her first appearance in a full-length film in “Hello! Everybdy!” She takes the part of the farm girl who is desperately- struggling to prevent ber farm being bought up by a powerful water company. Admiring her spirit, oilier farmers in tlio valley needed by the company join her and put up the money to light the case in court. Lily, Kate’s younger and extremely pretty sister, played by Sally Blanc, complicates matters by falling iu love with Hunt Blake (R-umlolph Scott) one of tlrt engineers of the company. He is sent out to the Smith -farm to persuade Kate to sell, but when ho realises liow much the farm means to them lie returns to his manager ana tells hint that lie considers it unfair to deprive the farmers of their homes. Disgusted with his firm’s attitude, Blako leaves them, and becomes a farmer himself. Not long af teiwards Lily and tie are married. Tlio farmers lose their ease iu the lower court, and te raise tiie money for high court proceedings Kate acc opt si a contract to sing from a radio station in New A'ork. And then, so rapidly, that she never quite understands how, she sky-rockets to fame.
