POVERTY BAY SEASON CLOSING MATCHES PLAYED TROPHIES PRESENTED Tile curtain was rung down ou the Poverty Bay Golf Club’s winter season ou Saturday, when tho liual match, a Canadian mixed foursome, was played, and the trophies won during tho season were presented. In presenting tho cups for tho principal events, tho president, Mr E. M. Hutchinson, stressed that the season had proved thoroughly successful in every avay and all members would regret that it was now closing. There was a difference now, however, in that there was simply a short break for many of tho players, as some 50 or 60 had intimated their intention of playing during the ■summer months, this now being possible owing to tne splendid improvement in tho course. Mr Hutchinson congratulated the successful players, and each winner came forward 1° receive his trophy amid enthusiastic applause. FINAL MATCH RESULTS The weather conditions were ideal and the Canadian foursome drew a very large field. The winning pair were Miss U. Fisken ' and ■D. Me-.
