Bowie returned home on Saturday after spending a most enjoyable month’s lioliady in Wellington. Mr. AY. Hamilton Irvine, who attended the meeting of the New Zealand Accountants Society at Wellington last week, returned to Gisborne on Saturday evening. Snow, (Tie side shows will be in the same location as last year, but it was decided at Saturday’s meeting of the A. and P. Association that it bo a recommendation to the committee next year to move them away from the end of the oval. At Saturday's meeting of the A. and P. Association, a vote of condolence with the relatives of the lute Messrs. E. \Y. Bousfield and J. At. Cram, who had been members of the association, was carried in the usual manner. The president referred to the fact that the late Air. Bousfield was probably one of the oldest members of the association : he had been a staunch supporter of tho work since its inception and had competed at the first show in 1875. A Christchurch P.A. wire records the death of the Rev. George Lindsay. aged 87. a retired Afinister of the Presbyterian Church. He was minister of St. Paul's, Invercargill, for 23 yeans, until 1911. in which year he was Aloderator of the General Assembly. Afterwards lie was at St. Clair for two years and at Southbl'idge for Jive years. Brown The death is reported of Mr. William Clement Cargill, of Morrinsvillo, aged 63. From 1892 to 1902 he was the proprietor of the AYairarapa Star, later known as tho Age and, from 1904 until 1908, he coptrolled the Paten Press. Subsequently, he started the Pukckoho Times and then purchased the Morrinsvillo Star. At the time of his death, ho was managing director of the Cargill Publishing Company, which publishes the MorriiiiSviUe Star, the Matamata, Record and the Putaruru Press.
