For iho first time since the depression, the United! States enjoyed an uninterrupted two months’ advance in business and commerce, stimulating cheerfulness mid confidence that the domestic and international problems still ponding arc adjustable.
Tho country’s steel activities ai-c approaching 40 per cent-.’ capacity, car loadings continue rising, and building operations are increasing. Commodities and wholesale prices rose on an average 12- per cent, and individual items like wheat 50 per cent, wool 50 per cent-, and sugar 20 per cent.
Farm commodities prices are rising four times faster than non-agricul-fcural products, reversing tho trend existing for years between the goods the farmer sells and buys. Government figures show a 1 3-5 per cent, employment gain -in April.
