SPIRITED BIDDING AND FIRM

TONE. (U.P.A. by Elec/Tel. Copyright) LONDON, May 19. At The wool sales, 8435 bales were offered including 2549 from New Zealand, and about 3459 sold; There was spirited home and Continental competition, and a firm tone, prices tending in sellers’ favor.

New Zealand sales: Elalrbred lamb slipe, Pareora, top price I3ld, average, 12|d ; greasy crossbred, YY r eber, Sid, 6fd; greasy half bred, Kekerangu; llld, 9|d.

Messrs. Dalgety and Company have received the following advice from London, dated May 19. —“The wool sales continued with excellent spirit, and a good clearance was made. Good style greasy crossbreds were fully >d high as compared with the opening rates.”
