NOTES AND NEWS. L. Martin, owner of tlie champion pacer Walla Walla, has lodged £-500 with the New South Wales Trotting Club with a challenge to race any trotter or pacer in the world for that amount. It is hoped to find a challenger in New Zealand but the match must take place before September IS, and the best two out of three heats of ione mile, move-up start permitted.—A.P.A.
