The special business was the initiation' of it member, Sister Wallen presiding at the organ in the absence ol Bto-. J. A. Vagg, while Bro. C. D. McKay, P-G.. assisted by Sister I). A. -Cook, N-G., were the conductors, the filial charge and the presentation of the lodge badge being undertaken by the secretary; honors were submitted by the lecture master, Bro. H. T. Slinden, P.G. In the correspondence was a charge against a member for a breach ol the rules While on the ,sick list, and after consideration it wa's decided to accept the explanation of the member and that the recommendation of the medical oflieer be approved 'luring tlie present sickness. It was agreed 'that relief to members in arrears with subscriptions as a re’sult of lack of work be dealt with by a sub-commilee with ]iowcr to act. . , Bro, H. J. Clayton, P.G., special sick visitor, expressed regret that several of the members were making very slow progress in tli.eir illness, and several accidents had occupied to mombors dttriue the past fortnight. Leave of absence was granted to Bro. R. AV. Wallen, FXL, and uUo the secretary, from the next lodge meeting, as the members mentioned were leaving that clay to attend t c district conference. It was agreed t a; a free hand be given tlie deputies o the business to he'•considered. Nominations for membership wore received from 'three' candidates.
