Tlie match at Newcastle between England and the Northern districts concluded to-day, and resulted In . a draw. Heavy rain Tell overnight. The Englishmen were 68 in arrears when their innings closed. For the Northerners R'. Little batted attractively. He pasted Mitchell and Voce, but Bowes’ bowing troubled the local players, as the'ball rose dangerously. Northern Districts in. the first innings made 322, and in the second scored 236 (R. Little 117, A. Baker 50). Bowes took three for 58, Mitchell four for 62, and Tate one for 49. Voce and Brown 'took no wickets.

England in the first innings made 254 (Pataudi not out 94, Mitchell 32). Wright took six wickets for 79, and Walters two for 42.

The New South Wale's Cricket Association, by 16 votes to 15, rejected a motion by Mr. Wacdy, “that this association dissociates itself from the action of the Board of Control in sending a- cable message to the Marylebone Cricket dub regarding the tactics of the bowlers of the present English team.” Three New South Wales delegates to the Board of Control did not vote. The Victorian Cricket Association previously carried a mtion supporting the board’s attitude.
