SUMMARY AND FORECAST. (Prcsr Association.) WELLINGTON, Jan. 23. —General Situation— A fairly intense Anti-cyclone now covers the Tasman Sea and New Zealand, its area of the highest pressure extending from Tasmania to Otago. Pressure is low over the greater part of Australia. —Forecast—Winds: M odor ate to strong, but decreasing southerly to south-easterly, later backing to north-easterly. .Seas: Rough between Kaikoura and East Cape, and in Cook Strait area: elsewhere niodcratc. Eastern Tasman Sea ; Moderate south-east to east, and lately northeast' winds; seas moderate. Weather: Fair to fine generally., hut some passing showers at first in the eastern and far northern potions of the' North Island. Temperatures cool, but becoming warmer again after tomorrow.
