SOUTHERN CROSS BUSY
RECORD JOYRIDING DAY AT NEW PLYMOUTH,
AUSTRALIAN FIGURES ECLIPSED.
Air-Commodore Sir Charles Kings* ford Smith had his record joy-riding day at New Plymouth on Sunday. The number of passengers carried in the one day was greater than it has ever been in 'Australia. This record is considered all the more remarkable when the comparative sizes of New Plymouth and the Australian centres are taken into account.
Taking the overflow, the Welling* ton Aero Club’s Waco, which piloted by Flight-Lieutenant G. B. Bolt, carried 150 passengers.
