COMEDY AND WESTERN

Joe E. Brown, one of the most popular comedians of the season, will be seen for the last time to-night at tlio Majestic Theatre, in his latest First National comedy, “Local BoyMakes Good.” Brown, who has indulged in athletic pictures of many sorts, including football, baseball, and boxing, is a track man in “Local Boy Makes Good,” and wins laurels for his college—-and his lady—as a sprinter—putting the usual number of typical Brown effects into his athletic efforts. “One Way Trail”, a thrilling Western featuring Tim McCoy and Doris Hill, is the second attraction.

Three English stars—Godfrey Tearlo, Kathleen O’Regan, and Olga Linda —pipy the leading parts in “The Shadow Between,” a drama of love and sacrifice by the playwright Dion Titlieradge, which, with “High Speed,” a thrilling romance of the speedway; featuring Charles (Buck) Jones and Loretta Sayers, will be screened at the Majestic Theatre on Saturday at the matinee and night only. “The Shadow Between,” the major feature, in which Miss O’Regan takes tlie very emotional part of a y-ouiig, woman who descends from tlio heights of society to the lowest slums so that' she will be able to meet her husband on equal terms when he finishes a term in gaol, and so that, his prison record ,nray not bo an .eerlasting harrier ■ between theinv Death-defying stunts on.the speedway are a. feature of' the second attraction, : “High "Speed,” featuring Buck Jones. ■ . y
