SUMMARY AND FORECAST. .Press Association.'* WELL]NO lON, Jan. 12. .Pressure is high at the Chatham Islands. The tropical cyclone previously referred to is now centred northeast of Cape Marin. There is still a deep westerly depression over the southwest Tasman Sea. Forecast. "Winds:—Strong southerly winds to gales in the Tar north, moderate to strong northeast to southeast elsewhere; in Auckland Province northeast to northwest south therefrom. Seas:—Rough north of Kaikoura, and considerable swell south °f Gruymoutli; elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea:—Southerlies prevailing in. the northern portion, and northerlies in the southern ; 1 seas moderate to rather rough. Weather: Rain in the far north and northeast; elsewhere lair to find, warm and sultry at first, hut rain gradually extending southward to beyond Cook Strait. Heavy falls likely in the Auckland Province.
