} MR 0. E. POWERS An old member of the Armed Constabulary and a mounted orderly to two of ‘New. Zealand’s Govert)ors died at Now Plymouth last week' after an illness of some months. 'Ho was the Maori War veteran. Mr George Edwin Bowers', aged 80 years. V .Mr Bowers was born ‘in Glonoster, ’and arrived in New Zealand when he ’■was 17 years' of ago, joining his parVehts at Christchurch.
