GISBORNE CLUB

Tbo Stejnebam Cup race, over a distance of approximately one mile, from Roebuck road bridge r *> the Point., will lie hold on Anniversary morning, January 30, at 9.30. Entries closo on the 26th. The club’s next carnival will bo bold on . Thursday, January 19, whom, the following programme will be conducted: 100yds. championship, 50yds. open championship, C 6 2-3yds. r allies’ handicap (second distance Gordon Cup), 100yds. intermediate, championship, 33 l-3yds. ladies’ breast-stroke handicap (final distanco Gordon Cup), 50yds. boys’ handicap, ilivo [.novelty, relay and water polo. With reference to the second ladies’ raco on tho programme, the. handioapper reserves the rig' fc to 'Yebandicap after tho first race has been swum. Tnc water polo match will be a special match, between, tho Fergnsoj Cup team and a team picked from the remaining players. . In view of the fact that the Ferguson Cup team leave for Hastings on Sunday, January 22, it we is deemed advisable to postpone Mr. Gordon Bridson’s proposed visit on tho 21st until a later date.

Arrangements in connection with the transport and other matters for the team to visit Hastings wore dualised, Mr. C. E. Brown being appointed manager and selector and ■Mr. J. S. Wanchop and Mr. D. w. McHeague water polo, selectors.
