Commissioner of State Forests, the Hon. E. A. Ransom, said that for the first time since 1923 the foreign timber trade Was in favor of N&w Zealand, Customs figures for .the first ten months of .1932 showing a favorable trade, baiance of 17,227,000 feet b.m. (£147,570) compared with an adverse balance of 2,886,000 feet b.m. (£50,690) for the .first ten months of. 1931, and an adverse.balance of 25,965,000 feet b.m. (£357,600) for the corresponding period of the years 1928 to 1930.—P.A.
