Advice has been received that the L’Atlantique is anchored ill tlie inner roadstead at Cherbourg. PARIS, Jan. 7.
A committee of eleven experts is proceeding to Cherbourg to investigate the L’Atiantiquc lire. M. Meyer, Minister of Marine, states that metal in preference to wooden fittings, will bo employed wherever practicable in future liners. It is rumoured that r there is trouble amongst the tugs towing L’Atlantique. It is reported that one of the tugs had lior hawsers cut deliberately. Another non-French tug was rammed and is now listing considerably.
